Sameera gives KRK a ride!

Picture this! You are in deep sleep and suddenly you are woken up by the Khiladi Akshay Kumar! It’s a dream come true, isn’t it? The housemate are woken by the cast of ‘De Dana Dan’ – Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Neha Dupia, Sameera Reddy, Chunky Pandey, Manoj Joshi and Sharat Saxena.

A pleasant surprise indeed! Everyone is shocked and at a loss of words. Vindu, who is a great friend of Akshay, jumps out of his bed and runs to give him a warm hug. Meanwhile, all the other housemates are completely awestruck by the presence of the glamorous star cast of ‘De Dana Dan’.

As the day progresses the housemates and the cast of De Dana Dan sit and chat over tea and snacks. Soon after Bigg Boss calls Akshay in the confession room and assigns a paper dance task – wherein each housemate is paired with the De Dana Dan cast. Akshay is paired with Poonam, Suniel is paired with Claudia, Neha Dupia is paired with Pravesh, Sameera paired with Kamaal, Chunky is paired with Rohit, Aditi is paired with Manoj and Bhakhtyar is paired with Vindu as Raju has been assigned the role of a referee.

The paper dance begins and soon everyone gets into the groove. Each couple stands on the double page of a newspaper and starts dancing on the piece of paper. After every round one couple gets eliminated. This continues till the time the paper is so small that the couple can dance only if one partner lifts up the other.

Usually it is always the male partner who picks up the female partner but in this case it happens the other way round – Sameera and Kamaal, who are a couple in this game complete the fifth round when the music stops. Immediately, Sameera picks up Kamaal on her back much to everyone’s surprise. Kamaal who is shorter than Sameera is completely taken aback but enjoys the moment of joy and happily gets lifted. Quite a sight indeed!

Although Suniel and Claudia were declared winners, its apna Kamaal aka KRK who wins the real booty – a ride on the back of gorgeous Sameera! Surely the housemates are going green with envy!

Rajan lost 10 kilos to look like Kasab

Actor Rajan Varma’s playing the man who, for a year, has been the focus of a country’s hatred...

Did you ever get discouraged after facing consistent criticism for playing Ajmal Kasab in the movie, Total Ten – Ashok Chakra?
I was selected after a gruelling audition, but when I saw the initial pics, I refused to act in the movie. However, the director showed me the script later and told me about the core messages in the movie. That’s when I was convinced to be a part of it. The film highlights the real meaning of the sacrifice made by our national heroes, lest the country forget. It also explains what jihad really means, shows Kasab’s ongoing mental agony and uses it to discourage youngsters from becoming fidayeens. Look at him, he prays for death everyday.

How did you prepare for the role?
I lost 10 kilos to look like Kasab, and also underwent basic combat training. I had to practice a bit of Punjabi as well, as the dialogues are mainly in Punjabi and Urdu. I also observed Kasab and the way he spoke.

Were you threatened during the film’s production?
Yes. In February, some people attacked my car and threatened me. I lodged an FIR and was given two constables for protection as well. But the attacks never deterred me.

Originally, the movie was supposed to end with Kasab’s hanging, but it was heard that the climax has been changed. True?
We have reshot the climax because there was an outcry against it. I can’t reveal much about it, all I can say is that the movie will only show what people want.

‘I want people to abuse my character’
So says Aroon Bakshi, who plays Pakistani mujahideen leader Maulana Masood Azhar in the film. “I will be extremely happy if people abuse my character. That way, my efforts in portraying the role earnestly will be applauded. I am playing one of the most hated terrorists in the flick, yet, I have sung a song for it with utmost passion.”

Taarak and friends get emotional

Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, the show on Sab TV, has been portraying the beauty and richness of Indian society and the strength of its togetherness very beautifully on screen.

But recently, there was a moment of contrast on the sets of the show which has become one of India’s most loved family comedy show. Replacing the usual bursts of laughter was deep silence and candles. It was a moment of solidarity with the nation as the entire cast came together to pay homage to those who had lost their lives in the terrorist attack of 26/11.

We talked to Dilip Joshi who plays Jetha lal and he said, “It has been a year since, but the wounds of those who lost their dear ones are still fresh. Though we have been bringing smiles to the audience through our show, we are taking a moment on this day to be a part of the loss of the families of the victims.”

Disha, who plays Daya, said, “We are one with the nation in expressing our grief. But looking through the Ooltah Chashmah (which is the spirit of viewing problems with a positive and different perspective), we must find courage in our pain and try to make this world a better to place to be in, in our own small ways.

Raju goes for Claudia's jeans!

The laughter express seemed to have taken a backseat. The otherwise happy-go-lucky Raju Srivastav is quite anxious today.

Usually his ongoing commentary entertains the housemates and the atmosphere is always light with him joking around. But today it just didn’t look like Raju was himself.

He was seen talking about leaving the house. In fact throughout afternoon he mostly kept to himself and kept staring at his family picture - perhaps Raju has begun to miss his family.

By evening the laughter king was back in his avatar and was seen pulling Vindu’s leg ... The housemates decided to play dumb charades to kill time and Raju donned the role of a barber and stated combing on Vindu’s bald head with a comb ... He then went upto Claudia with an iron and started ironing her jeans! That led to a roar of laughter amongst the housemates.

Way to go Raju bhai ... you are indeed the laughter medicine!

Remo out of action

The winning master of last season’s Dance India Dance, Remo D’Souza, won't be able to shake a leg on the show till February 2010.

The mentor choreographer who survived a serious accident while attending the Dance India Dance Kolkata auditions has suffered multiple fractures in his leg. The cast will be removed only after 8-10 weeks, after which he has to undergo physiotherapy for a month. Certainly this piece of news has sent the choreographer into bouts of depression as he is now apprehensive about his involvement in the show and training his ‘ Remo ke Rangeeley’ squad.

“It’s not only about being handicapped for eight weeks but even after that when the cast is removed, I have to undergo physiotherapy for a month. It’s only after that can I think of shaking a leg... Dance is my passion and now I will have to do without my passion for good three months,” says the disappointed master.

The channel said, “We are very shocked with the entire incident that took place in Kolkata. This season’s DID format needs active participation of the mentor’s not only off the stage but also onscreen. But unfortunately, due this incident we’ll have rework our plan as Remo would be totally wheelchair-bound. It’s very sad that the audiences will not get to see his hip-hop onscreen until February next year. We will miss Remo terribly and we wish him a speedy recovery.”

Well, we hope that Remo recovers soon and produces another dancing star like Salman...

Rani backs dancing talent

Rani Mukherji often referred as Bollywood's Queen of Hearts proves it true yet again! A versatile actor and dancer par excellence, the Queen of DPL was supportive and instrumental in helping a highly talented team garner another chance on Dance Premier League. Contrary to reports, there was no 'diktat' or ultimatum given by Rani Mukherji. She was simply backing the team in consultation with both the channel (Sony Entertainment Television) and the producer of the show (Cineyug Worldwide). Further, Rani Mukherji had a valid reason for asking for the change - she felt that the team concerned is doing extremely well and has huge public support. Therefore, it was only fair that they should be given an opportunity to have another chance, perform again and win the heart of the viewers and the judges. The channel and the producer of the show agreed to her suggestion. With a minor change in the format the team got a breather. Confirming this incident, Danish Khan, Vice President - Marketing, SET says "Please watch the episode this weekend to understand what Rani was trying to do. Her only objective was to retain some absolutely talented participants, and I think that is good for the show and good for the channel as well" Mohammed Morani of Cineyug further adds that "Both the channel and the producer appreciate Rani's involvement and respect her opinion & suggestions. The facts need to be reported in conjunction with the real story otherwise it creates a wrong impression".

Vindu goes bald

Day 49 is like any other day in the Bigg Boss house when the housemates wake up to the alarm to get into doing their daily chores. Poonam and Aditi hit the kitchen deciding on the lunch menu and get going with the preparations.

There is a lot of commotion in the men’s room as Vindu decides to shave off his head. He seeks everyone’s opinion and they all are in consent with it. So with a little help with Kamaal, Vindu goes bald. It was quite a sight to see the two together especially after their heated rift outside the gymnasium. Vindu seemed to have been quite happy with his bald look and is happy that the housemates too like it. He starts planning a fresh approach to his already existing career as a villain in Bollywood.

The garden area looks to be the favorite hangout for the housemates. In the evening too Aditi Pravesh and Claudia turned the garden area into a golf course, an umbrella to a golf stick and got onto to playing the game. Aditi was quite impressive with her shots and was well appreciated by everyone for her game. Bigg boss summons Kamaal in the confession room and assigns a task to the housemates.

The task is called ‘Vanish Shuddhi Task’. For the task the housemates have to nominate one person who they think needs to have a clear heart and give that person one dirty garment to wash. The nominated person will have to wash the garment and make sure that it is spotless. Well no points for guessing ... it was none other than Rohit who was nominated by the inmates. Rohit without any delay got on to the task and was able to complete it successfully!

In the night, following the hand grenade Vindu gets onto narrating the bedtime story to Kamaal. Just then Bigg Boss decides to entertain the housemates and starts playing peppy bollywood numbers. Excited to hear the music everyone starts dancing wherever they are. The girl gang later join the boys in their room and they together head to the garden to dance. The highlight was the performance by Kamaal Khan who danced on his own song from the film Deshdrohi. After a longtime the housemates let their hair down and enjoyed to the fullest.

Another day comes to an end at the bigg boss house.

Granny makes Rakhi emotional

Who can ever forget the unconditional love of doting grandparents, who pamper us rotten by stuffing us with our favourite food, who put us to Juhi Parmar with her grandparent.

sleep with stories of kingdoms far away and not to forget our loving shield that protected us when we were just about to get spanked by our parents?

These are fond memories that bring tears of joy in everyone’s eyes. So a piece of advice... this episode of Pati Patni Aur Woh is not meant for the weak-hearted.

With the teenagers gone, it is now time for the grandparents to come into the lives of our celebrities. A letter along with the photo of the grandparent ordained to stay with the couple was sent to the five homes instructing them to meet their guest at five for a tea party.

Shilpa and Apurva were delighted to welcome the green-eyed 90-year-old Susheela Pathak, whose photo Shilpa just couldn’t stop kissing! Our Ram and Sita 'jodi' had to greet Grandma Kaushalya Gangwani, a very surprising co-incidence indeed. Gurmeet believes that Kaushalya looks just like his naniji. Juhi and Sachin welcomed granddad Love Dev, who believed that he was a spitting image of Juhi’s dadaji. Both Gurmeet-Debina and Juhi- Sachin got emotional and couldn’t fight the tears as they remembered their own grandparents. Our sentimental Rakhi broke down whilst reading the letter and Elesh tries his best to comfort her. As for grandma Janak Rani Arora, who they are supposed to welcome, Rakhi couldn’t help but notice what a strong resemblance she had to her mother! Gaurav and Mouni gave a warm welcome to grandmother Vijay Laxmi Sabharwal.

Gurmeet and Debina get very emotional as they learn that their naniji Kaushalya, had lost her son in the bomb blasts at Sarojini market which brought tears to her eyes. When Debina and Gurmeet ask her not to cry she lovingly said that they are nothing but tears of joy as she can see a reflection of her own children in them.

Watch the celebrity couples in this emotional journey as they start building the foundation of a beautiful relationship.

'Reality shows are like T20 matches'

For many, Jamna Das Majethia, better known as JD, will flash across minds as the character of Himanshu he played in Khichdi. His latest venture is Sukh By Chance, where he is the producer.

Quiz him over his new project and he says, “It is the story of a middle class family who gets three crore rupees all of a sudden. This story is very close to my heart, as I too hail from a middle class family. I’ve tried to put lots of elements from my own life which I’ve observed when I was with my parents.” This story takes him back to his younger days.

Ask him about his upcoming projects, and he shares, “I’ve two-three more serials in the pipeline. Apart from that, we are shooting for a film but I can’t share the details about it. Also, I’ve been working on conceptualising a reality show, although I feel reality shows are like T20 matches and soaps are like ODIs or test matches.”

About the television soaps and shows on the prime time slot, JD feels, “It is very important to have family based shows that give clean entertainment and not like the shows where it is all about quarrels or fights in the family. I make it a point to keep my daughters away from such shows as I feel such serials are not good for them.”

We probe him on why there are so many new faces across the television industry and he says, “Television has its budget constraints and thereby, we cannot keep running after television stars who charge too high. Instead, if we as producers are getting a new face and talent, we prefer launching them in the soap. And television is a medium that accepts new talent very easily. And unlike films, a soap is not successful because of stars but because of its content.”

Gujarati culture and rituals seem to be followed very minutely in his serials and he asserts, “Sometimes I cannot relate to those Gujarati characters in certain films and serials that are introduced to bring in the humour element. I think that Gujaratis have a good cultural background – be it in art, drama, rituals. But some producers portray them in a very cheap way.” He signs off.

I'll beat 3 idiots in Bigg Boss: KRK

Kamal Rashid Khan, who was evicted from the Bigg Boss house because of his aggressive and violent behavior with his housemates, will be re-entering the Bigg Boss house as wild card entry. “Yes I am going tonight into the Bigg Boss house as the wild card entry.” confirms KRK.

According to him TRP’s of the channel went down after his exit. Thus the channel decided to get him back. “The channel got its highest TRP’s when I was in Bigg Boss but the day I went out, TRP’s became less. Now the channel approached me again and asked me to be there. I am sure this time the TRP’s will be higher than ever.”

KRK informed us that he followed Bigg Boss even after his eviction. So what is his strategy now? He said, “I will enter the house in a rocket. I don’t know whether the housemates will be happy, sad, or surprised by my entry but I promise cent per cent entertainment to my audience.”

He further explained that his entry will mean trouble for Vindu, Rohit and Raju who have been punished by Bigg Boss. “I am going to beat these three idiots. The audience will see how I will set them straight. They need to learn a lesson and I am the hero who will teach it to them.”

Of all the housemates, KRK thinks Bakhtiyar Irani to be a sincere person, but would want Pravesh to win the Bigg Boss title! “If not me then I would want Pravesh to win. He is very true by heart and doesn’t believe in bitching. But now I am going as wild card entry so you never know...,” he signed off.

Perfect Brides are actors!

Rahul Mahajan is gearing up for his swayamwar on TV. On all counts, he’s not the most eligible bachelor around! But, after the response Rakhi Sawant’s swayamwar got, the channel quickly decided to go into Season 2 and chose the controversial Rahul for this.

But are these shows for real? That’s the one question audiences are asking. Will Rakhi and Elesh Parujanwala actually tie the knot or have the viewers simply being taken for a ride? Well, even if the duo part ways, who’s to question, in any case!

The show’s over, isn’t it?
Whatever the reality of our reality shows, the fact is that marriage has become big business on TV today. Television rating points (TRPs) zoom during shaadi episodes even in serials. No wonder long elaborate wedding sequences are the order of the day. Channels too don’t mind spending heavily because they see the returns in the form of TRPs!

Seeing the trend, reality shows (Vivah, Perfect Bride and now Rahul Ka Swayamwar) too have decided to cash in on the wedding mania.

The institution of marriage clearly is commercialised and almost becoming a joke, feel many. Recently on a television channel it was revealed that Perfect Bride contestants were struggling actresses. In fact one of them, Priyanka Sharma, is a model and has briefly been a telly anchor and also acted in a movie.

Telly audiences, especially reality show buffs, are naturally agitated. “Reality shows should not play with people’s sentiments. It’s supposed to be reality, right? There has to be some amount of truth in it,” says Nikita Kocchar, a housewife.

TV host and producer Kanchan Adhikari too is alarmed at some of the reality shows of today, especially the ‘shaadi’ related ones. “It’s ridiculous. No doubt channels are competing with each other for TRPs, but they must keep public sentiment in mind. Reality shows should promote talent rather than make a mockery of institutions like marriage. There’s also a show where unmarried couples are raising kids. What are we heading towards?”

However, some feel reality shows, just like everything else on TV, should be taken with a pinch of salt. Says producer Manish Goswami, “Viewers should not analyse things. After a show is over they should not wonder if the the two participants will actually tie the knot or not. When the viewer has expectations then there are disappointments! Hence they should just enjoy the show.”

And what do TRP experts have to say? “Marriage as the basis of a show is not a sure shot formula for success,” points out a spokesperson for TAM, an organisation that measures Indian TV viewing habits. “One has to create the grandeur and aura and also there’s got to be the marketing and promotional boost. Only then will it work and yes, it has worked for some of shows.” He further adds, “The intelligent Indian viewer knows what he wants. It doesn’t take him more than a second to make a choice.”

No ‘skin-show’ = No show?

Hindi serial makers tend to copy from the big screen. And from the looks of it, Ajai Sinha’s Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des looks all set to follow in the footsteps of Satyam Shivam Sundaram, the film that made Zeenat Aman emerge as the sexist thing to walk planet Bollywood.
Newcomer Jaya Binju plays Rukmini, a pretty girl marred by a deformity, a la Zeenie baby in the film. But Zeenat was skimpily clad in short wrap-arounds and cleavage-revealing blouses, while Jaya is more traditionally dressed in ghagra-cholis, to suit the family audience. But then will the show hold viewers’ interest? Time will tell!

Shweta Tiwari, the tantrum queen!

Shweta Tiwari might be one of the most popular contestants on the third season of Comedy Circus but she is quite unpopular with the show's co-contestants and crew members.

“Throwing tantrums, refusing to rehearse and reporting hours late to the sets are just few of the things Shweta does,” reveals one of the contestants. On condition of anonymity, the contestant adds, “Shweta walks in late but she gets really irritated if she is made to wait even for a few minutes. She doesn't mingle with us and keeps to herself.” Another source reveals, “If she is chatting on the phone, she keeps others waiting till she leisurely finishes her conversation. Her mantra is 'Don't count me as everybody, I am Shweta Tiwari'. She has said so often to the production guys when they have asked her to be ready for a shot or when others are waiting to complete shooting. She behaves like an uncrowned queen even though she is not a big star. She is only doing Comedy Circus. Anoop Soni, who is a part of Balika Vadhu, which is such a popular show, is so good to everyone.”

We caught Shweta's teammate, Anoop Soni while he was busy shooting for Comedy Circus. “Shweta, Rehman (the third teammate) and I have started to bond during the shooting. So, I cannot comment on this,” he says.

Shweta sarcastically dismissed the story.

No boyfriend for teen, says mom Rakhi

With teenager Sakshi’s entry into the Rakhi-Elesh parivaar, it was evident that mayhem was expected. On day one itself, hell broke loose in the Rakhi-Elesh household with Elesh’s outburst at Sakshi for disrespecting the rules of their house. The otherwise cool and composed Elesh made it very clear to their teen that he is a no-nonsense person. However, while Sakshi got Elesh’s message loud and clear, she decided to try Rakhi’s patience. Sakshi had been ordering her parents around for quite some time and Rakhi decided that now it was high time that their teen begins to help around the house. While Rakhi was giving Sakshi a head massage, Sakshi ordered Elesh to cut an orange for her. Hearing this, Rakhi who was already annoyed, requested Sakshi to do things herself rather than commanding and ordering around. However, the incident that made Rakhi flip was when she requested her daughter to help her with the dishes, and the teenager refused to oblige. Little did Sakshi know that there was already a volcano waiting to erupt from within Rakhi. Sakshi went a step further to insult Rakhi, saying Elesh had seven girlfriends before Rakhi. That was it! This was enough reason for Rakhi to lose her cool and she demanded that Sakshi apologise to Elesh. Sakshi, who also lost her cool by then, used offensive and foul language, fuelling Rakhi’s anger. Hell broke loose when a heated verbal argument began between the mother-daughter duo, leading Elesh to intervene. Elesh managed to get the women to sort out their issues by talking to them. Rakhi explained that Sakshi needs to know how to run a household as well as be independent enough to stand on her own feet before wanting to have a boyfriend (which she believes is a waste of time and energy). She tells Sakshi that she is at a stage where she can’t even fend for herself so considering having a boyfriend should not be her priority at this moment. Sakshi compares Rakhi and Elesh’s relationship to that of a boyfriend and girlfriend and said that she too wants to ‘experience’ it all. This infuriates the already fuming Rakhi and she lashes out at Sakshi saying that she should never forget that she is an Indian girl and this is not her culture. The whole situation goes out of hand with both mother and daughter screaming their lungs out at each other. What will be the outcome of this argument? Will Rakhi order Sakshi to leave the house as Elesh had earlier? Or will Sakshi sober down and realise her fault?

Kamal Khan to return to Bigg Boss..

f Vindoo Dara Singh and Rohit Verma weren't enough to indulge in all the dirty politicking, plotting and planning inside COLORS' Bigg Boss, now we hear Kamal Khan is going inside it on Thursday morning to create more mayhem.

A birdie sitting outside Bigg Boss house tells us that he's
apparently asked for "forgiveness" for his uncouth behavior the last time around to Bigg Boss, and the channel in turn has accepted his apology and decided to pep up the proceedings by sending him again.

According to our source, "Kamal has already reached Lonavla and arrangements are being made by the unit to give him a grand welcome into the house".

Bakhtiyar Irani who has already predicted that "show ke khatam hone tak kisika khoon hone ke alava yahan baaki bahut kuch honewala hai" was possibly talking about Kamaal Khan.

Kamal has many bones to pick with Rohit who had faced his ire and the bottle, the former had flung at him which led to his eviction by the Bigg Boss, as all the other housemates had ganged up against him and wanted him out. So this time when he goes in, he has a lot of unfinished job to be done with the rest of the contestants.

While Tanaaz Iraani who Kamal couldn't stand is already out of the House, her husband and the others are still there with whom he can settle scores with. Interestingly, this week, Bigg Boss has thrown up six names -- Rohit Verma, new entrants Pravesh Rana and Vinod Kambli, Claudia Ciesla,Bakhtiyar and Aditi Gowitrikar for eviction -- and we are sure after Thursday, Rohit would pray hard to his Lord Krishna to be the chosen one by the janta.

Because this time, Kamal's bottle could just hit its target!

^^Love is in the air^^

Star One's Mile Jab Hum Tum soon will have new faces with the entry of a couple played by Anupriya Kapoor and Nishant Malkani and it will be their love story in the show. But off-sets also, love is in the air.

The latest buzz is that Mohit Sehgal (Samrat) and Sanya Irani(Gunjan) are dating each other.

An Indya source tells us, “We all have seen the duo getting too close to each other, when not shooting. They get along with each other very well and some times after pack-up they both go together.”

Further, our source tells us, “They behave in such a manner as if no one is looking at them. However, in the first phase, they had tried a lot to hide their relationship but now it can be clearly seen. Sanya sometimes does consult Mohit if she is confused even during rehearsals of the scenes and both help each other. During the lunch time, they just share their lunch together. About their rapport, they choose not to say anything to the media.”

Both were unavailable for the comment.

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi scores a century!

Star One's Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms, which got launched in June this year, completes its 100 episodes.

Tellybuzz got in touch with some of the actors …

Gaurav Khanna aka Prithvi says, "The journey till now has been fabulous. It feels like I'm going to college everyday because not just the cast but the whole crew is of my age. So every day is hilarious. If there's an off some day the whole day goes boring. I really enjoy the my on-set company. We make a lovely bunch (smiles)."

Gaurav further adds, "Thanks to this show, I've learnt horse-riding which is like one of the minor achievements of my life. I'm glad that people find me decent when I'm riding a horse as I've heard that to look civilized when riding a horse is indeed difficult. I also am happy that I've got a challenging role. Prithvi is totally opposite to me. I like to smile when I'm talking whereas Prithvi hardly ever does that. It's nice to surprise people with different roles (smiles).

Perneet Chauhan aka Avni says, "It's really nice to know that my first show has completed 100 episodes. It has been a great learning experience. I'm totally in love with my character – Avni. I am very much emotionally attached to her. These 100 episodes also mean lots and lots of handwork. As everyone is aware daily soaps are not a comfy way of working. Today I can definitely say I've moved a couple of steps further ahead in live."

Furthermore Perneet says, "All of the emotional scenes that I do, always touch my heart. Especially the scenes with my onscreen mom (Sujata Sehgal) and onscreen sister Damini (Chandana Sharma) are truly heart rending. In any scene with them where I'm required to cry, real tears start flowing. The recent Damini wedding too was a superb experience. We all had a great time."

The show was recently reported to go off air but thankfully it turned out to be just a rumor. And going by the successful completion of 100 episodes it only feels the show's still got a long way to go…

Jaskaran talks of his femme experience

Jaskaran Singh aka Dodo of Star One’s Miley Jab Hum Tum talks of his experience when he got into the skin of the opposite sex!

Jaskaran Singh who we all know as the funny and lovable Dodo of Star One's Miley Jab Hum Tum, has taken us on a rollicking ride with his many spoofs. He treats us to another endearing one, this time with that of a very sophisticated lady!
原帖地址: Apnaindya - Home of Indians Worldwide http://www.apnaindya.com/forums/showthread.php?p=180

Jaskaran says, "It's so good that the creatives of Miley Jab Hum Tum keep coming up with one or the other spoof for Dodo. I've had a great time doing each and every one of those- especially that of Ghajini."

So how was this experience? "Well what to say, it was hilarious. Everyone has given an amazing response. Sania (Gunjan) went crazy. Navina (Diya) didn't know all this and wasn't even aware that I had gotten my make-up done. So when I was walking around with my full make-up, she didn't recognize me. When I sensed this I went up to her to talk and she got startled at first and then burst out laughing."

He adds, "It was tricky also in a way…if you know what I mean. So there I was sitting in a chair with people working on some extra padding. Lots of 'tissue paperwork', you see."

Thanks to this incident, Jaskaran came across some unusual compliments too. "My makeup person was showering me with compliments when he was doing my eye-makeup. He went on to say how it looked like that of a Bharatnatyam dancer and how I've been naturally gifted with long lashes which will save him the effort of sticking artificial eyelashes to my eyelids(laughs)."

When contacted Sumeet said, "It's after more than a year that I am back on TV. It's not that I didn't get any offer but I was very busy with my short film titled Rehman Saheb ko phone karna hai and after it got completed I got a call from Balaji for this role. Kunal Karan Kapoor in Pearl Grey's show..

Kunal Karan Kapoor will play a pivotal role in Spellbound Productions' upcoming show on Star Plus...

The shoot of Pearl Grey's debut show tentatively titled Pratha which is to launch on Star Plus sometime in December is in full swing, and the entire unit is busy shooting for their first out door schedule in Allahabad.

Kunal Karan Kapoor who made a mark for himself in the television field with Left Right Left is back on television with this show. Kunal was last seen in Zee TV's Maayka.

According to our source, "Kunal plays a pivotal role in the show. However, we could not get much on the character he is playing. All we got to know is that his character is very important and hence, this is not the right time to divulge information on his character".

We called Kunal but he refused to comment.

In reply to our text message, Producer Pearl Grey replied to us, "Yes, Kunal is part of our show. However, I cannot disclose details right now".

Pooja Gor of Kitani Mohabbat Hai fame plays the female lead while new face Arhaan Behl plays the male lead. As reported earlier, the cast includes Shahab Khan, Avantika and Ankit Gera are part of the show.

The show is expected to launch in December at a prime time slot.

As reported earlier, the story is about Pratha, who is an educated and smart girl. She lives in a society wherein the girls of the family are generally married and sent off to their husband's place at a very early age, while it is the sons of the family who get all the freedom and status. The male lead who is the complete opposite of the girl is uneducated. The manner in which she encounters the guy of her life, changes his way of living, and transforms him into a better individual forms the crux of the story.

Amarr Upadhyay to enter Bidaai..

Amarr Upadhyay enters Star Plus' Bidaai as the successful lawyer who will defend Ranveer...

Star Plus and Rajan Shahi's Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai has reached a crucial phase wherein one of the protagonists Ranveer Rajvansh (Kinshuk Mahajan) has been arrested for attempt of murder.

The present track is very emotional with Ranveer and Ragini (Parul Chauhan) getting separated, just when Ragini gets the good news that she is pregnant. The Rajvansh family believes that it was the situation that forced Ranveer to brutally hit the goon, and they have decided to go to any extent to save their son from the clutches of law.

At this point, enters a very important character in the show who will be the lawyer appointed by the Rajvansh's to save Ranveer.

According to our source, "Talented actor Amarr Upadhyay will be playing the role of the country's most successful lawyer, who fights for Ranveer. His screen name is Dhananjay Singhania, who has not lost even a single case. The man is full of attitude, style and is emotionless, when it comes to work. When the Rajvansh's approach him for an appointment, he gives them a date somewhere in 2010, but he finally succumbs to accepting the case, when the politicians known to the Rajvansh family compel him to fight the case".

When contacted, Amarr Upadhyay confirms the news and says, "Yes, I play the very successful lawyer in Bidaai, who will be fighting to save Ranveer. Dhananjay Singhania is very stylish; he has a fascination for watches, clothes etc. He believes that this client Ranveer is innocent and it was the situation that forced him to commit the act. He will now scheme, plot and create certain circumstances to prove that his client is innocent. This is a very interesting phase in Bidaai. More than anything, my association with Rajan Shahi goes back to the days of Viraaasat; and when he gave me a call to take up this role, I accepted the opportunity".

Amarr Upadhyay's role is expected to go on for more than a month or so. He was last seen playing the obsessive antagonist in Sahara One's Doli Saja Ke..

Producer Rajan Shahi too confirmed the news of Amarr playing a powerful role in Bidaai. "Amarr has been a friend since the Viraasat days; he has always been part of all the success celebrations of Bidaai. This role of the lawyer is an author backed role, and Amarr was the perfect choice. He has started shooting, and is doing an amazing job. His entry will bring more twists and turns which will make the going very interesting".

Amarr Upadhyay has started shooting from yesterday, and his entry will be aired coming Tuesday or Wednesday.

Well, seems like Ranveer fans have finally got a reason to smile with the savior's entry into the show...

Kids, now the centrestage in tellyland

There was a time, years ago, when acting in films wasn’t looked upon as the best thing for child artistes. The general impression was that the kids were compelled to do so due to financial conditions or parental pressure. They had no choice and many had to forego formal education for it.

The scenario has changed today, especially on television. Kids are ruling the roost with many shows having them playing crucial roles, even central characters. Comedy shows and talent hunts too are focussing on them and the best part is that the young guns are having a blast. Ask any of them, even the tiniest one, and they talk of how he or she is pursuing a passion and loving the perks of fame that come with it. Eight-year old Saloni Daini says she’s thrilled when people come up to her and say aap bahut acchi acting karti ho! “It makes me very happy,” she giggles. This youngest comedian in the country is almost viewed as a little wonder, whose histrionics are equivalent or even better than her adult counterparts.

The child artistes are almost becoming role models for others, who want to be in their shows. Take the case of Avika Gor, the youngest bahu of television. Everyone wants to be in her place! It’s a high for her, she admits, when girls her age say main bhi Anandi banna chahti hoon! She’s better known as Anandi today and same is the case with her co-star Avinash Mukherjee. Everyone calls him Jagdish (his screen name) and he loves it. The adulation is overwhelming “but I haven’t changed” maintains the lad.

The shooting schedules are hectic for the young brigade, but studies and homework can never take a backseat. At least that’s what they all say and they have their future plans set too. If Avika wants to become Miss Universe, little Zaynah Vastani, who plays the title role in Aap Ki Antara, wants to be Deepika Padokone when she grows up. Sometimes, that changes to Kareena Kapoor, depending on her mood!

The slightly older Ulka Gupta from Jhansi ki Rani has bigger goals along with acting. “I would also like to be a director or may be a cameraman!” she smiles.

Telly actors struff their stuff

Acting may be their profession, but there’s something else too that our telly actors love doing — walking the ramp! That’s what we discovered the other day when actors from almost all top serials strutted their stuff on the ramp.

This show, put together by Anu and Shashi Ranjan, was a precursor to their upcoming telly event. Actors from Uttaran, Sapna Babul Ka Biddaii, Yeh Rishta kya kahlata hai, Ladies Special, Naa Aana Iss Des Laado, Ballika Vadhu, Pavitra Rishta etc were all seen doing their number. Of course, the actors were not dressed like ramp models, they were very much in their character get-up, but then as one of them remarked, “Aren’t we better known by our characters? If we dress like ourselves and walk down the road, some people may not even recognise us?”

Agle Janam Mujhe Bitiya hi Kijo’s Abhishek carried his light-weight co-star Ratan Rajput in his arms and walked the ramp for Even actors from comedy serials including Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, Sonu Sweety, Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai were all there. Kiku and Ali Asgar from FIR walked on to the stage in their cop uniforms when anchors (Mansi and Vivaan) were hosting the show. They demanded to know what show was being held and whether the permissions were in place!

The whole team of Baa Bahoo Aur Baby seemed to have a lot of fun on the ramp. Deven ‘Gatoo’ Bhojani made a grand entry in bright red shining clothes and sunglasses and a whistle and had the audience in splits with his wise cracks.

Shree Adi Manav: Fun continues offscreen too

Shree Adi Manav is a fun show and incidentally, there’s loads of fun on the sets as well. Recently, during the shooting of their episode, Shree, Adi and Manav, who were wearing the costumes of Akbar, Salim and Mansingh, made everyone laugh out loud. The scene was particularly hilarious and the entire crew including all technicians couldn’t control their laughter! During this scene, at one point, Shree (Vishal Kotian) picks up a sword to fight Adi (Vrajesh Hirjee). Now Vishal got so involved in his character, that of a blind guy, that he literally started flinging and moving his sword here, there and everywhere violently!

His co-stars had to literally save themselves as they knew that the sword was real and not a wooden one. But everyone around had a great time!

Another twist in Woh Rehne Wali...

Reena Kapoor has been the only constant factor in Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki, but the actors opposite her have been replaced five times in the show.

Arjun Punjj, Manoje Biddvai, Vinay Jain, Aamir Ali and Karan Grover have all played husbands to her but now, the story’s taking a twist. Apparently, Karan Grover and his three brothers are going to have an accident and all of them will die in the show. So now, Reena will be a widow.

But knowing our serial makers’ penchant for bumping off characters and then bringing them back after plastic surgeries, it’s quite possible that her husband will be back again in the form of another actor!

Karan lands in legal trouble

Karan Singh Grover has his ex-wife and the producers of Dill Mill Gayye puzzled. Apparently, he used to tell his wife Shraddha Nigam before heir separation (as reported by Mumbai Mirror, October 6) that he was leaving for a 9am shoot but would only reach the sets at 4pm.

Meanwhile, the production house suffered as Karan spent much less time shooting than he was committed to. Now, the producers, Cinevistaa, have filed a complaint against him with CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) and will sue him to cover their losses of about Rs 2 crore.

Karan would often turn up late or not reports to the sets, even though Shraddha thought he was diligently slaving over his shoots. Not so long ago, Shraddha called up Cinevistaa for some work and asked for Karan, only to learn that he hadn't shown up.

Cinevistaa's Managing Director, Sunil Mehta confirmed that his company has written to CINTAA complaining about Karan Grover. He said, “We've written to CINTAA telling them about Karan's behaviour and the fact that we plan to sue him. He used to come at 4pm for a 9am shift and would leave by 10pm. My company has suffered a loss of over Rs 2 crore. We definitely intend to sue him. Shraddha was scandalised when my son told her that he has not reported for work, when she thought he'd left for a 9am shift.”

“At one point of time, we had thought of making a film with him as the lead actor. Now, Karan's film with Mukesh Bhatt is not happening. Ditto for his film with UTV. Success, fame, adulation and power went to his head, I guess.” added Mehta.

We sent Karan a text message, but he remained unavailable for comment.

Scare-giver Again

For everyone who grew up watching the popular television serial Aahat, it’s time to be scared again. For Aahat will soon be back on the television screens, promising viewers haunted houses, ghost, re-incarnations stories and occurrences by paranormal forces.

Telling us about Aahat, our source reveals, “Unlike the last three seasons, the new season will have three young researchers who are part of an institute on paranormal sciences. As these youngsters delve deeper into the subject, the story will unfold under mysterious circumstances. These three characters will be constant through the season, not just for a few episodes. The new season will be aired from a seemingly appropriate Friday the 13th of this month.”

BP Singh, the director and the producer confirms the return of Aahat. He further says, “I hope we are able to terrify the viewers. Many horror serials follow a particular format, but we are trying to break away from the regular way of storytelling. We have different subjects through the season, keeping in mind the modern day sensibilities.”

Will money corrupt Sukh By Chance?

When there is no money there are problems, but when there is more money there are greater problems... This is what Sukh by Chance the new show is about.

The show promises a refreshing change with the return of the middle class family into the living rooms. Sukh by Chance is a simple and relatable story of a middle-class Gujarati joint family, the Mehta family, who live a contented life in spite of minimum financial support. The Mehta household will mirror the dreams of many such Indian families experiencing the pains and joys of living under one roof with a varied range of individuals, each with his/her unique character. They may not be rich, but sharing love and the small pleasures of coping with life keeps several families like the Mehta family together under one roof.

Although the Mehta family has modest financial earnings, they are content with their material assets and more involved in deriving happiness from the little joys of life found in sharing life within a big, happy household. They not only continue to reside under one roof amicably, but have a common joint bank account operated by the patriarch of the family. Life is filled with ups and downs, but the Mehta family never misses an opportunity to celebrate the smallest of the occasions.

Their day is very similar to many of the homes across India. A wake up call saying no tooth paste ... a very common occurrence in the Mehta household, but the family members are in splits when they see Mohanbhai using all his energy to squeeze the almost empty paste tube to get a few brushes with paste. Less money or no money, it never dampens the spirit of the Mehta family!

One day Mohanlal is told that he has got Rs 3 crores in his account! From there on, starts the clash of Value Vs Greed. Can Mohanlal keep his family together with the high values he has inculcated in them?

After mastering the genre of light-hearted family dramas like Khichdi, Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai, Jasubhai Jayantilal Joshi Ki Joint Family, Baa, Bahu aur Baby; actor- producer Jamnadas Majethia (JD) & Hats Off Production along with director-writer Aatish Kapadia brings yet another show of the same genre for Sony Entertainment Television.

Sukh By Chance casts a convincing mix of actors like Sanjivv Jotangia, Bharti Patil, Shyam Pathak, Shreya More, Ujjwal Chopra, Upasana Shukla, Ketkie and others.

Uttaran actresses on hostile ground

Characters Tapasya and Ichcha on the TV show, Uttaran, got along well when they were young, but are at loggerheads now that they play grown-ups
after the generation leap.

In real life too, Rashmi Desai (Tapasya) and Tina Dutta (Ichcha) are hostile towards each other. Rashmi’s closeness to co-star Nandish, who plays Veer, is also a hot topic of discussion on the sets.

As soon as the director wraps up a shot, the two girls retire in different corners of the set. Our source from the sets reveals, “Tina and Rashmi are nearly the same age. We thought they would have fun together and be comfortable with each other. But in reality, they can barely stand each other.”

Recently, Tina refused to give an interview jointly with Rashmi for a TV channel on their sets at Vikroli. “Please interview me separately; I am uncomfortable in Rashmi’s presence,” Tina is said to have told the interviewer.

Explaining the bone of contention, our source adds, “Rashmi and Tina both feel that their role is lesser than the other. There’s constant comparison between them. Also, Rashmi and Nandish’s body language suggest they are dating.”

Rashmi says, “Nandish and I are very good friends.”

Tina refuses to acknowledge the enmity and says, “People were also saying that we fought in the make-up room recently ... All that is loose talk. And as far as the joint interview goes, maybe both of us weren’t free at the same time.”

Past-life show is actual reality: Ravi

Superstar of Bhojpuri movies, Ravi Kissen is making his debut as a host of new TV show Raaz...Picchle Janam Ka. We got a chance to speak with his witty star. Here are the excerpts from the interview:

What’s the concept of ‘RPJK’?
This unique concept uses the technique of Past Life Regression to find answers to questions that trouble us in our present lives! Do you have an unexplainable fear of heights? Do you have a recurring dream that has haunted you since childhood? Have you ever met someone and felt that you know them, even though you’ve never met them before? These mysterious coincidences and unexplained fears may be related to your past life. Psychiatrist Trupti Jai is going to take participants back to their previous life through this technique and try to find out answers for their fear.

What will be your role as a host?
I will be talking to participants about their journey after they return from regression. Though you will see me dressed up in the best branded clothes, I will be concentrating more on connecting with the participants, to bring out their experiences, fears, etc.

Any memorable incidents that happened during the shoot?
That you have to watch yourself to believe it! This is the ‘actual reality show’ with no scripting at all. There was this guy who is working as an engineer, who used to constantly hurt one leg for the last few months. When he came back from regression, he told us that he had gone back to 1936, where he saw himself wearing a dhoti and ultimately he even saw himself hanged till death. It’s an altogether new experience to witness such things happening before your eyes. The audience is going to be shocked with the show.

The popular belief is to focus on building a better future and not delve much on the past... so what is such a show trying to prove?
Once you know the reason behind your problems and fears, you arrive at peace of mind. Lots of people have benefited from this technique. It helps address fears, phobias and even physical ailments in our present lives by finding the roots in our previous lives. So, it’s actually going to help people.

Aren’t you interested to know about your past? When are you going to sit on the hot seat?
In this show anything can happen anytime. So, you never know! Even I would like to try my luck in one of the episodes.. you need to keep watching the show for that!

What was your recurring dream?
That I am falling from the sky into the deep valley.

What’s happening on the movie front?
I have completed shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan and am also doing a movie with Shyam Benegal.

Narayani won't hurt ex's girl Mouni

In yesterday's episode of Pati, Patni Aur Woh, TV actor Gaurav Chopra's ex-girlfriend Narayani Shastri walked in with choreographer Saroj Khan as a special judge for a dance competition.

On seeing her, Gaurav's current flame TV actress Mouni Roy (and the guy himself) seemed jittery and shaken. When we contacted Narayani, she said, "I don't know why people make such a big issue out of it. Gaurav and I have known each other for donkey's years. We are extremely close friends and I still maintain that. Mouni is like my younger sister. I will never do anything to hurt them."

Then why were they taken by surprise on the show? "The channel asked me to come on the show and I accepted. And if Gaurav and Mouni looked shocked, they know the reason better. It could also be a brilliant editing job, maybe an attempt from the channel to garner TRPs."

But Mouni hasnt been very kind to Narayani when confronted by media. Narayani irritably adds, "The media must be asking Mouni questions which upset her. In a fit of anger or stress, she may have said things that I'm sure she didn't mean."

Well, whatever the case Narayani, even you seem hassled... Hope it's not because of your guy (oops, best friend!) dating your 'younger sister'!

Bigg Boss 3 gets notice for vulgarity

The third season of the reality show "Bigg Boss 3", hosted by iconic film star Amitabh Bachchan, has landed in trouble with the Information andBroadcasting Ministry Monday sending a notice to Colors channel for "offending good taste" and for the use of vulgar language.

The channel has been asked to show cause for its actions within five days, failing which it will be taken off the air.

"It has been brought to the notice of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that certain parts of the reality show 'Bigg Boss 3' telecast and re-telecast on Colors channel offend against good taste and decency and are not suitable for unrestricted public exhibition," says the show-cause notice.

The notice says the language used by some participants is abusive and the show contains visuals which appear to be obscene and violative of the government's programme code.

It also points out that recently in one of the visuals, one participant has been shown pulling down the shorts of another participant. "This has offended the sensibilities of many viewers," says the notice.

The ministry has asked Colors not to carry content on the show that "constitutes a violation of the programme code as enshrined in the Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act 1995," failing which it will be taken off the air.

Recently, one of the participants in the show, actor-director Kamal R. Khan, was thrown out for violent behaviour.

The reality show is based on the international show "Big Brother" in which 13 celebrities are locked in a house for 84 days and monitored round-the-clock by 40 cameras.

Avinash, don't use lipstick!

The fans of Choti Bahu are obsessed with Avinash’s (Dev) lips, it seems. A while back, fans were barging mails asking Avinash to stop usinglipstick as his lips looked strawberry pink onscreen.

Avinash was super embarrassed by this comment and actually clarified to his fans that his lips were naturally reddish pink in color and that he never used a lipstick to enhance them! This time, a fan has actually gone ahead and sent Avinash two lip balms along with a fan mail and her photographs.

Apparently, the lady, a housewife read somewhere that Avinash cannot live without lip balms as his lips crack up easily during the dry season. Without delay, she immediately gift wrapped two lip balms and posted it to the production house in Avinash’s name.
Avinash’s jaws fell upon receiving such a gift item ... first he thought it as some kind of a prank being played by the unit members but he was actually taken aback when the letter and photographs of the fan were presented to him.

Another crazy fan sent him a Tom & Jerry DVD. “I cannot fathom why people are sending me such stuff ... I’m sure they are mistaking me for somebody else ... I don’t get enough time to sleep, what am I supposed to do with an DVD of a cartoon?” asks Avinash. Well, Avinash, we are as flabbergasted as you are ...

There’s a big highpoint happening in the show currently. After so many trials and tribulations, finally Radhika is getting married to the love of her life — Dev. The wedding is touted to be a grand affair with Lali, of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo is supposed to do a special cameo and dance at the wedding. The reception is going to be all the more opulent with all the other Zee stars like Archana of Pavitra Rishta and the singers of Saregamapa gearing up to put up a grand act to mark the occasion.
