Remo out of action

The winning master of last season’s Dance India Dance, Remo D’Souza, won't be able to shake a leg on the show till February 2010.

The mentor choreographer who survived a serious accident while attending the Dance India Dance Kolkata auditions has suffered multiple fractures in his leg. The cast will be removed only after 8-10 weeks, after which he has to undergo physiotherapy for a month. Certainly this piece of news has sent the choreographer into bouts of depression as he is now apprehensive about his involvement in the show and training his ‘ Remo ke Rangeeley’ squad.

“It’s not only about being handicapped for eight weeks but even after that when the cast is removed, I have to undergo physiotherapy for a month. It’s only after that can I think of shaking a leg... Dance is my passion and now I will have to do without my passion for good three months,” says the disappointed master.

The channel said, “We are very shocked with the entire incident that took place in Kolkata. This season’s DID format needs active participation of the mentor’s not only off the stage but also onscreen. But unfortunately, due this incident we’ll have rework our plan as Remo would be totally wheelchair-bound. It’s very sad that the audiences will not get to see his hip-hop onscreen until February next year. We will miss Remo terribly and we wish him a speedy recovery.”

Well, we hope that Remo recovers soon and produces another dancing star like Salman...
